ABOUT US





Established in 2012, The CHANGE Trust envisions an African society that protects its children in every aspect of life; economic, social and political growth.


CHANGE Trust believes that every policy and program of government should have a clear consideration for its impact on children. We also believe that if children participate in policy and the planning of development programs, the programs are better absorbed and accomplished.


Intervening in both policy and practice, CHANGE Trust achieves its objectives by documenting, educating and involving. We research and document stories of impact and best practice. We educate and inform the policy makers, arming them with tools and evidence for decision-making. We involve and dignify the beneficiaries and community workers in child and youth work.


The CHANGE Trust is governed by a board of trustees; James Keeru, George Kogolla and Muteru Njama.

Kenyan Children's Act



The CHANGE Trust is a member of the National Steering Committee on the Children Bill in Kenya and seconded to the National Commission for Administration of Justice (NCAJ) Taskforce on Children Matters. CHANGE Trust is also in the High Court Family Division Court Users Committee.



RESEARCH TO INFLUENCE POLICY



Strathmore University



More than 50,000 children in institutions will benefit from our research on how to exit children from orphanages. The research is based at Strathmore University Institute of Family Studies and Ethics. It is supported by the NCAJ Taskforce of Children Matters and State Department for Social Protection



MAINSTREAM CHILD PROTECTION INTO SDG EFFORTS



Parliamentary Caucus on SDG and Business



Together with Kenyan CSO, this program provides support and information to the Kenyan Parliament on Child Protection. Issues addressed include Child Focused National Budgets, Child Protection Policies for County Governments and Child Participation in Policy Formulation.
